Muira
Puama's (Mara Puama, Liriosma) origin is the Brazilian Amazon. Muira Puama is
a bush with small white flowers, although the useful parts are the roots and the
bark. Research has discovered that these parts are high in fatty acids, essential
oils, and an alkaloid called muira puamine. Muira Puama may well provide the most
therapeutic approach for sexual dysfunctions. Through out history, Muira Puama has
been used as an aphrodisiac and a tonic for the nervous system. Muira puama is
still used around the world in herbal medicine.
